Free PDF to Word Converter

Turn a PDF into an editable Word document, free and without signing up. The conversion happens in your browser, so your file is never uploaded.

Choose a PDF to start.

How it works

The tool reads the text on every page along with its position, size and font, then rebuilds it as a Word document: lines are joined into paragraphs, larger text becomes headings, and bold, italic and centred text are kept. Urdu and Arabic paragraphs are set right to left.

  1. Choose or drop a PDF.
  2. Click Convert to Word.
  3. Download the .docx file and open it in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice.

What to expect

  • Best for text documents such as letters, reports, articles and CVs.
  • Images, tables and multi-column layouts are not recreated: the text comes across in reading order, ready to edit, but you may need to rebuild complex layouts. For tables, try our PDF to Excel converter.
  • Password-protected PDFs work if you know the password; the tool asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The PDF is read and converted entirely in your browser, so it never leaves your device. That makes it safe for contracts, statements and other private documents.

Is it free?

Yes: no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on files or pages. The page is supported by ads.

Does it work with scanned PDFs?

Not yet. A scan is a picture of a page with no real text inside, so there is nothing to convert. The tool tells you when a PDF looks like a scan.
