CareerPilot helps you tailor a job application to a specific job posting: it maps each requirement to evidence in your resume, asks a few targeted questions about gaps, then drafts a tailored resume, cover letter, recruiter message, interview prep and screening answers. It is grounded in your real experience: every factual claim must point back to your resume or your own answers, and anything it can’t back up is withheld instead of invented.

Free, private AI that runs on your computer
CareerPilot uses Qwen3-4B, an open AI model, running in your browser through the open-source WebLLM runtime. There is no account, no API key and no usage fee, and your resume and the job posting are processed on your device: they are not uploaded to us or to any AI provider.
- One-time download: the first time you load the AI, your browser downloads roughly 2–3 GB of model files from Hugging Face and keeps them for next time.
- Needs WebGPU: use an up-to-date Chrome or Edge on a desktop or laptop with hardware acceleration turned on. About 5 GB of free graphics or shared memory is recommended; the app checks your device first.
- Takes a few minutes: on modest hardware, each step can take several minutes. Keep the tab open while it works.
- Not for every laptop: basic built-in graphics may load the model but stop partway through. If that happens, use a computer with a dedicated graphics card or Apple Silicon.
How it works
- Add your experience: upload a PDF, Word file or text resume (text-based files; scanned images are not supported). Check the extracted text.
- Add the job: paste one full job description.
- See the honest match: each requirement is marked supported, partial or not found, with the exact lines from both documents.
- Fill the gaps: answer up to five follow-up questions. Blank answers never become invented facts.
- Get your package: a tailored resume, cover letter, recruiter message, interview prep and screening answers. A separate AI audit checks every block against your evidence, and numbers that aren’t in your sources are rejected. Export to Word, copy, or print to PDF.
What it won’t do
CareerPilot doesn’t verify credentials, predict ATS scores or hiring outcomes, find job listings, or send anything to employers. A small on-device model can still make mistakes even with these checks, so review everything before you submit it.
Frequently asked questions
Is CareerPilot really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no AI fee, because the model runs on your own computer. Your only costs are the one-time download and your device’s power.
Is my resume uploaded?
No. Files are read in your browser and the AI runs locally. Nothing is saved unless you click Save, which keeps your source text only in this browser. See the in-app “Privacy & data” panel for details.
Why does it say my device isn’t supported?
The AI needs WebGPU. Update Chrome or Edge, turn on hardware acceleration in the browser settings, and use a computer rather than a phone. Older or low-memory graphics may not be able to load the model.
Do other OneAppleFall tools have free AI?
Yes. Our video transcriber and gift finder offer optional free AI features with a lighter Qwen3 model (about 1 GB) that runs on most computers with WebGPU, including many laptops with built-in graphics.
